			<description>&#60;p&#62;Wondering if you had any success with advice above?  My 20 year old son recently started Jiu Jitsu and is getting incredibly frustrated.  His insertion site falls out daily.  At present he is using Skin Tac, Torbot Cement and (2) IV 3000.  I&#38;#39;ll definitely look into the Tegaderm Film and suggesting he move the site (he only switches from left/right side of stomach).  Thank you so much, to all!

			<description>&#60;p&#62;where are you attaching the sensor?? it could be that the adhesive gets extra stretch or gets squished from flexing forward during riding.  i had similar problems with the first sensor i put in which was too close to my stomach crease. (unfortunatly i had more problems bending forward to study than bike).&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;I&#38;#39;ve recently started doing long (50-100 mile) bike rides, and would like to use my glucose sensor (Paradigm) while riding to help monitor my BSs.  The problem- I have trouble keeping it in place- I usually lose the sensor insertion site within an hour of riding because the adesive fails.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I&#38;#39;ve tried preping with Skin Prep, and all kinds of extra tape, etc.  Any ideas for keeping this gadget in place and operable?

&#60;p&#62;I am in training to do a back to back century ride in July called the STP.  I did this many years ago and the insulin and how I manage things has changed.  I am looking for some advise from others who do similar riding on how they adjust insulin and food requirements.&#60;br /&#62;
My control is much tighter than in the past and I struggle with low BSs on ly doing a 15 to 20 mile run.   Help?&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;Another thing to consider are the effects of adrenaline and nerves on the system.  I ran track in college and was amazed at the differences in sugar levels between workout days and race days.  I&#38;#39;m not that familiar with golf, but the ups and downs of competition is something to keep in mind.  Also if you are traveling a lot, keep in mind the effects of changing time zones and diets. I always found it difficult to find food for dinner the night before that wouldn&#38;#39;t result in a sugar spike.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;She also mentioned what you did about droping the basil for longer after the activity as well as an hour or two before the activity. I was just dropping it during the competition. &#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;Nice work on the college level of golf play first off! First off some easy tips to help you improve your control is is testing.  Im sure you already test a good amount as is but try throwing in a few test during the time your out on the course.  Do you use a CGM at all??  They give you a great picture of the whole day to reflect on and then correct for the next time you head out there.  I always tell people that &#38;quot;everyone is different but what works for one might not work for another.&#38;quot;  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Some things i do to prevent hypos in my training is eating a high protein breakfast if i am training  in the morning, or hit up a peanut butter sandwich before i ride.  I also use a CGM however if i have it off and im out training generally ill stop 3 times in a 5 hour training ride to check my numbers and refill bottles.  &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;now to tackle the after training sessions id talk with your health care team to help to dial it in however here is my 1,2 on it.  Generally the effects of exercise last 24hours after the workout so i normally will run low in the evenings after really hard workouts or race days.  To combat this i just have dropped my basals like 30% for 5 hours in the evening and its worked for me.&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Hello,&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 18 months old. All throughout my life I have been heavily involved with sports. I have been able to manager my BG level decently while playing sports but want much better control. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I currently play golf in college and have been trying to step up my training routine as well. I am typically on the course for 4-8 hours during a tournament match. When I train during the week I have started to get on a much more intense weightlifting program and cardio program. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Since then I have been getting low BG levels during the training and quite often after the event or training session. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Is there anything recommended? Any type of food combination that I can eat before my event or training session that will help with this?&#60;/p&#62;
