Hi DESA Members,

I have been reading about vitamins and supplements that are recommended for people with diabetes. I would like to ask if there are any DESA members here who are taking certain vitamins and supplements every day and what are the benefits that you see in the way you feel, blood sugar control, or in the performance of the exercise/sport that you do to stay healthy and fit.

I take a multi vitamin, super B complex, vitamin D, alpha lipoic acid, magnesium, chromium picolinate, krill oil, and glucosamine chondroitin MSM. There are a few others that are recommended for active people with diabetes but I'm trying to leave some room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner :) Are you taking any that I am not? Why?

I do 60 minutes of weight resistance training and 30 minutes of cardio twice a week for all the benefits that these exercises provide and in addition I am trying to add a few pounds of lean muscle. Any tips or suggestions on how to increase calories to gain some healthy weight and control blood sugar at the same time would be greatly appreciated.
